Upkar Diwali 2016 Celebrations

Namaskar, Sat Sri Akal, Salaam Alaikom!

The festive season is here and it’s time to greet and meet one and all on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. One of the most widely celebrated festivals amongst all Indians, Diwali is a symbol of Diyas, Fire-Works, Prayers, meeting the near and dear ones and hoping the almighty showers their blessings on one and all for a prosperous year ahead. Since UPKAR is one large family, we cordially invite all the UPKAR members to come together to celebrate the festival and enjoy the grand evening. The details for the event have been provided below –

Date: Friday; 4^th November, 2016

Event Start Time: 6.30PM

Entry timings: Registration Desk will open from 6.30 PM.

Registration & Food Vouchers: We request all members to register and collect their food vouchers before the event or upon arrival at the venue.

Felicitation: UPKAR would like to honor the children of UPKAR members who have achieved Grade 9/ Grade A1 or above from classes VI – XII for the academic year 2015-16. Parents are requested to send details to upkarpost@yahoo.com, latest by 22nd Oct, 2016 with the following:

Membership Renewal: We request members to renew their UPKAR membership for 2016/17 before the event or upon arrival at venue along with collection of food vouchers.

Food Charges: Food charges will be KD 1.500 per head, kids below 5 years will be free. Guests are most welcome to be part of celebration, guest charges shall be KD 7 per head.

Upkar Annual Day Celebration

Upkar Association Kuwait, one of the modestly large Association of Indians formed in Kuwait, had the honor of holding Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 23, 2016 at the renowned premises of Indian Embassy, Kuwait. It was a fun filled evening that witnessed a fashion show themed “Unity In Diversity”, children’s talent show and various singers, poets etc. that had come forward from UPKAR fraternity to add to the aura of the pleasant evening.

The event has historically been an occasion for all the members to meet one another after the long summer break in Kuwait and provide their valuable inputs to the Executive Committee for the events planned for the forthcoming year. It has been unanimously agreed for the next mega event to be the “Diwali” celebration considering the festive season coming up and to be followed by a Cricket League, Dandiya nite during the remainder of 2016. Whilst the tentative dates shall be provided later, we shall hold a family picnic, Holy Celebration and children’s talent show of various forms during 2017 and prior to the next AGM.

EC members are entrusted the responsibility to organizing the social & cultural events during the year and we hereby also encourage our folks from all spheres in Kuwait to join the Upkar family and be a part of the eventful year coming up.

UPKAR AGM 2015

Upkar Association Kuwait, one of the oldest Association of Indians living in Kuwait, celebrated its Annual General Meeting cum Picnic on 1st October 2015 at Musical Fountain Park, Kuwait. Event was 1st event of the Organization, after long summer break. Families & friends enjoyed the get-together. Program was filled with fun and games for adults and kids.

UPKAR members also added 3 new members to executive committee – Mr. Sanjay Mansukhani, Mr.Bobby Oberoi and Mrs.Hemali Shringi for the year 2015-16. All members were elected based on nominations. EC members are entrusted the responsibility to organizing the social & cultural events during the year.

Next mega event of Upkar Parivar is the festival of light Diwali, we will meet on 6th November 2015, members of Indian community are welcome to join UPKAR and member’s guests are always welcome to join us for celebrations & get together. UPKAR AGM at Fountain Park

Dear UPKAR members,

Namaskar.

We are happy to announce the upcoming UPKAR AGM, on 1st October 2015 at Kuwait Fountain Garden from 7pm – 11pm and request you all to attend and also bring friends and families to enjoy the fun filled event

We would also like to invite nominations for UPKAR Executive Committee from the members.

Mr. Hridayesh Dua, has accepted our request to preside the election process. We request you all to please send your nominations to: Mr. Dua at hdua01 at gmail dot com
We also like to inform that during the past years catering rates have gone up considerably and is becoming difficult to arrange event with good food at present contributions. We are pleased to keep annual membership contribution unchanged at KD 25/- and are proposing a nominal increase in food charges for members above 12 years to KD 1.500, children above 5 years to 12 years KD 1/-, kids below 5 years will be free.

We also take the opportunity to request all members to support UPKAR function at a very nominal membership contribution from members to get sponsors for programmes.

Please confirm your attendance to any of the UPKAR committee members listed below before 29th September, 2015. We also request to renew your annual UPKAR membership (KD 25) at the registration counter along with updated membership form (attached).

We take the opportunity to thank all members for their excellent support and appreciation and would like to continue serving the community in future too.

Yoga for Nepal Earthquake Victims

In view of current natural calamity in Nepal. There are many families in need of support. As part of our social responsibility, we should come forward and support them.

Upkar Association EC has agreed to support Nepal earthquake victims to the best we can. In order to collect fund we are organizing Yoga Session for one hour by Guru Gajendra, as per following details :

Time : 8am to 10am

Location : Indian Community School,

Amman Branch,

Salmiya, Kuwait

All proceeds will be sent to Nepal Earthquake relief fund,through Nepal Embassy (or Prime minister relief fund). Your volunteer contribution will highly appreciated, there is no lower or upper limit for contribution.Your small contribution can change lives of needy persons.

Your support in organizing this even for social cause will be highly appreciated. Please confirm your willingness to join We also look forward to your valuable suggestions.

We want all UPKAR members to participate in large numbers and encourage your other friends to join this social cause.

Indian Food, Herbal and Handicrafts Exhibition

The Embassy of India, Kuwait , in association with Kuwait Chambers of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) is organizing ” Indian Food, Herbal and Handicrafts Exhibition” at KCCI Exhibition hall at Ground floor, Area #9, Al-Shuhadaa Street Kuwait on Wednesday 18th March 2015 from 11:00 am to 08:00 pm.

A large number of Food products, Indian snacks, Spices, Indian Tea as well as herbal products will be displayed. A special section dedicated to Indian Handicrafts will be prime attraction of the event.

Upkar Holi 2015 Celebration

UPKAR family and friend celebrated Holi with lot of joy and zeal at Khairan Camp on 6th March 2015. Members and guests extended whole-hearted support and co-operation in smooth organization of the function.

Upkar executive committee welcome all the members and invited guests. There were many Holi delicacies like Thandai, Gujjiya, Kachodi, Papdi Chat and Paani Poori was available for the members. All participated in various games like Pitthu, Tug of War and Holi Themed Tombola and Antakshari . Nonstop DJ enabled the members to dance on latest Bollywood chart-busters.

UPKAR executive committee extend their appreciation to all members and guests for their participation and making the function a great success. We look forward to same support for our upcoming events.

UPKAR EC also takes the opportunity to thank our caterer Caesar’s for their support and service. Caesar’s has been proving catering in most of our events with excellent service.
