What is Upkar Association and what are benefits to the member who joins.

 Upkar association is a non-profit organization in Kuwait, engaged in social and cultural activities for its members. Membership is open to all North Indians. We celebrate most festivals together and perform social services as one big family.

What is source of income for Upkar Association?

Upkar association operates mainly on nomination membership subscription (25KD annual, per family) and sponsorship from our valued sponsors, with the help of esteemed members.

What is membership period?

Upkar Acccounting  year starts with September to July every year. Our first event generally is Annual General Meeting in September/October.

What are the festivals and activities Upkar perform

We celebrate Holi, Diwali, Day picnic, Night Picnic, Annual General Meeting (AGM) Children drawing competition and Annual day event. Number of events many increase/decreed in any particular year.

Are Bachelors membership allowed?

No, Upkar presently do not allow bachelor members, however special cases (like wife living abroad with kids etc) can be always be considered.

What is Executive committee, how it is formed? Can a member nominate himself/herself?

Upkar Executive committee or EC is team of upkar members, nominated every year to run the Upkar association. EC Nomination is requested before AGM and new EC takes charge in AGM. Tenure of each EC is one year. Any member can nominate herself/himself, as and when nomination are invited.

Can I invite my friends to the UPKAR event?

Yes you can invite any Indian, non-Indian friends, but you need to pay Guest charges (as specified in the event email) and you need to take full responsibility.

My Parents are visiting from India, Can I bring them, and will upkar charge any guest fee for them?

Yes you can bring, however as a special gesture, parents (on visit) are allowed free of charges.

Can I add my north Indian friends to Upkar Facebook group?

Yes you can, please add them, any admin can approve their Facebook group membership. In case of any inconvenience, please contact any of the admins in the group.

Can I donate to Upkar?

Sorry, we do not accept donation, however you can contribute through our sponsorship program.

How can I contribute to Upkar?

All members are our assets, you can contribute to upkar a volunteer for the event, provide your professional services to the Upkar Association on honorary basis and arrange sponsorship for the events.

My Kids have performed outstanding achievement in academics or sports or any other cultural events? Will  Upkar award them?

Yes why not, they are Upkar parivar kids. Kindly send us details, we shall evaluate and respond.
