Upkar Annual Day Celebration

Upkar Association Kuwait, one of the modestly large Association of Indians formed in Kuwait, had the honor of holding Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 23, 2016 at the renowned premises of Indian Embassy, Kuwait. It was a fun filled evening that witnessed a fashion show themed “Unity In Diversity”, children’s talent show and various singers, poets etc. that had come forward from UPKAR fraternity to add to the aura of the pleasant evening.

The event has historically been an occasion for all the members to meet one another after the long summer break in Kuwait and provide their valuable inputs to the Executive Committee for the events planned for the forthcoming year. It has been unanimously agreed for the next mega event to be the “Diwali” celebration considering the festive season coming up and to be followed by a Cricket League, Dandiya nite during the remainder of 2016. Whilst the tentative dates shall be provided later, we shall hold a family picnic, Holy Celebration and children’s talent show of various forms during 2017 and prior to the next AGM.

EC members are entrusted the responsibility to organizing the social & cultural events during the year and we hereby also encourage our folks from all spheres in Kuwait to join the Upkar family and be a part of the eventful year coming up.

Yoga for Nepal Earthquake Victims

In view of current natural calamity in Nepal. There are many families in need of support. As part of our social responsibility, we should come forward and support them.

Upkar Association EC has agreed to support Nepal earthquake victims to the best we can.  In order to collect fund we are organizing Yoga Session for one hour by Guru Gajendra, as per following details :

Date  :   Friday, 8th May 2015, .

Time : 8am to 10am

Location : Indian Community School,

Amman Branch,

Salmiya, Kuwait

 

All proceeds will be sent to Nepal Earthquake relief fund,through Nepal Embassy (or Prime minister relief fund). Your volunteer contribution will highly appreciated, there is no lower or upper limit for contribution.Your small contribution can change lives of needy persons.

 

Your support in organizing this even for social cause will be highly appreciated. Please confirm your willingness to join We also look forward to your valuable suggestions.

We want all UPKAR members to participate in large numbers and encourage your other friends to join this social cause.

Indian Food, Herbal and Handicrafts Exhibition

The Embassy of India, Kuwait , in association with Kuwait Chambers of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) is organizing ” Indian Food, Herbal and Handicrafts Exhibition”  at KCCI Exhibition hall at Ground floor, Area #9, Al-Shuhadaa Street Kuwait on  Wednesday 18th March 2015 from 11:00 am to 08:00 pm.

A large number of Food products, Indian snacks, Spices, Indian Tea as well as herbal products will be displayed. A special section dedicated to Indian Handicrafts will be prime attraction of the event.

All Upkar members are welcomed to attend the event.

Upkar Holi 2015 Celebration

UPKAR family and friend celebrated Holi with lot of joy and zeal at Khairan Camp on 6th March 2015. Members and guests extended whole-hearted support and co-operation in smooth organization of the function.

Upkar executive committee welcome all the members and invited guests. There were many Holi delicacies like Thandai, Gujjiya, Kachodi, Papdi Chat and Paani Poori was available for the members. All participated in various games like Pitthu, Tug of War and Holi Themed Tombola and  Antakshari . Nonstop DJ enabled the members to dance on latest Bollywood chart-busters.

UPKAR executive committee extend their appreciation to all members and guests for their participation and making the function a great success. We look forward to same support for our upcoming events.

Diwali Celebration Event

UPKAR Association Kuwait, a non-profit organization serving Indian Community living in Kuwait, for last 25 years, celebrated Diwali on Saturday the 30th October 2014 in Musical Fountain Garden, Kuwait. Event was attended by all Upkar members and invited guests.

DIWALI CELEBRATION Announcement

Dear UPKAR members,

The festival of Light – Diwali is our next and most awaited program. We are pleased to inform you that we would conduct the program in the last weekend of October 2014 and request all members to block their calendars for that the same and join us in celebrating the homecoming of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

Details of the venue with other specifics would follow in the forthcoming emails.

EC Nominations – UPKAR needs enthusiastic members to join the committee and help in its initiative to promote the cultural flavors. We had requested members to send in their nominations to join EC 2014-15.  Last date to receive nominations is on or before  23rd October, 2014.  We look forward to your response and support in making UPKAR reach new heights in the year 2014-15.

The auspicious occasion of Diwali is also the time when we felicitate 6th to 12th standard kids for their outstanding academic achievement (i.e. grade A, or 9.0, and above). We request all members to send across your child details for the needful.

Membership:  We also request members to renew their membership and bring new members.  Our membership for the year 2014-15 is KD 25/- for the family.  Guests are welcome to attend the program, guest charges would be communicated in the forthcoming emails.
